August Monthly Media Highlight

Its time for Monthly Media Highlight, August 2012 Edition!
and I would like to talk about 2 movies this month, Total Recall and Super 8, also a few of my new favorite songs.

First I'll start out with total recall. Great movie, moved along well, action and fighting sequences were superb!  I love Colin Farrell, I think he is perfect for bad-ass roles and action films so of course I loved him in the movie, wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Jessica Biel being lead female lead alongside Kate Beckinsale, but actually I liked her in the role.
The romance was light, nothing heavy, or super sexual, but it wasn't nonexistent. I thought it was perfect, nothing over the top, and it didn't leaving you longing for more, at least not a lot, and i thought she did great with the action, I was a bit impressed :p
Now I think we can all agree even without seeing the movie that Kate Beckinsale did a kick-ass job, because of course this is her type of movie and she always does a great job of doing those roles. Although she usually plays the heroine... but you gotta love her anyways.
all together, it strayed in a couple places, I wish Bill Nighy had a bigger role, seemed a bit short and random, but other then that, my husband, my mother and I, loved it! Which is saying a lot since my mom can be picky, but afterwords she wouldn't stop saying "how can you top that, how CAN you top that?" lol
The movie was a great ride :) very entertaining and I would very much suggest that you see it in theaters!
bigger is always when it comes to action films.

now I know I only do one movie usually, but I wanted to put a mention of Super 8 in here. I don't think the movie got the credit it should have, I think what threw people off was the name, didn't really connect to the movie, so it didn't attract many people, but the movie itself I really enjoyed, I was impressed with the acting, and the effects, the train crash was pretty cool too.
I think if you enjoy sci-fi like movies you might wanna check it out, it sure was better then we thought it was going to be.

Now when it comes to music, I bought myself some songs with a little of my birthday money, and there was one I instantly fell in love with, I cant stop listening to it... and since the others are really good too, so I'll be listing 5 songs, but make sure to check out the first one because thats the one I'm obsessed with at the moment :) the second one is a very powerful piece that you might have heard from a couple commercials, that i found entrancing. The third is also a very powerful and entrancing song I found on the trailer for the new movie Epic, the only problem is that its a snippet of a very very long song, so i didn't buy it because its like 16 minutes long, my husband found a very nicely cut version of it, a good way to hear it is checking out the trailer for the movie Epic. but if you wanna check out the long version its original name is called The Lightning Strike.

1: Radioactive - By - Imagine Dragons
2: Crushing Blow - By - Jack Trammell
3: What if this Storm Ends - By - Snow Patrol
4: Too Close - By - Alex Clare
5: Fortune Days - By - The Glitch Mob

Gotta say its a pretty interesting mix of things.
Anyways hope something I said, perked someones interest.

Enjoy!

An Unusual Movie Experience and a Missed Appointment

So turned out i wasn't able to make it to my doctors appointment, insurance still isn't up and going :( but i didn't find that out till i had gotten ready to go, so since i was all dolled up already we decided to take pics anyways.

On the other hand Me and Michael were finally able to see Hunger Games, and even though it was good and we both enjoyed it, the weirdest thing happened. I was soooo nervous and tense from the beginning to the end of the movie that i almost made myself sick and i was shaking like crazy...it wasn't fun, and i don't know why it happened, because there are plenty of other movies i could be nervous about also all the time, but that doesn't happen to me....i mean sure i have though's symptoms sometimes, but usually its before a recital, or meeting a new doctor, or moving across the country...and even then its usually just sick to my stomach nervousness, not tenseness thats so persistent i shake like crazy.
idk it was a unusual experience even for me :p

Insurance Meltdown

This last week has been a pretty hard one, when I called in to get my monthly prescriptions filled, I found out that my insurance coverage was terminated at the end of July.
so this last week was basically me, mom and Michael jumping through a ton of hoops trying to figure out how to get it reinstated... which ends up being a lot more difficult then it should be.
Not going to tell you all the details of whats going on, but the things I am willing to share that is basically the only things relevant, is I still don't have insurance, we don't have money, I spent all of friday in the ER trying to get insulin because we cant afford it and I ran out that morning, only ending up to get prescriptions to buy it... although we didn't have to pay right up so hopefully the insurance will be up and running by the time the bill come.
right now I have enough meds to hold me over, but idk if I can make my doctors appointment, which really pisses me off since i need this one, it's been 4 months since I've seen my doctor, my appointments kept getting pushed back and pushed back, and I finally have a solid appointment for Wednesday, but idk if my insurance will be up and going by then (I doubt it) sooo... *sigh* may sound kinda stupid but everything is out of my hands, so I get to sit here and wait and pray I get free insurance soon... because we can't afford anything more then that right now...and my meds are more then $700 a month straight up... and thats only my diabetic meds...i don't even know how much all my other stuff costs.
So here I am, ok for now, hoping to be ok in the future.

Hubby's 23rd

My husband's birthday was Saturday, and since we didn't have the money do plan anything or really go anywhere mom helped out, and we were able to head down to a small local water fun park nearby.
Sure it was mostly families with kids, but hey it was water! Small lazy river, wave pool, and surprisingly had 7 water slides.
First slide of the day I went down... went horrible, since it was the shortest line, we choose that one, but it was the highest and longest one (which is probably the reason it had a short line)... I hadn't been on a water slide in years, and it went horribly wrong, lol. I was so nervous I shoved myself in the tube so quick that I hit my head and after that... well... I couldn't lift my head out of the water, I hyper-ventilated, so I was freaked out, and I couldn't breath, chest was tight, and I was dizzy... it was not so fun, lol. After a turn in the lazy river and spin in the wave pool I was ready for more though.
The rest of the day went well, wish I could have done more slides with Michael, because I know he would have done it a ton more times, I just couldn't handle the stairs.
I was also able to buy my husband a little chocolate cake with the little money I had, lol mom bought a box of candles so since he turned 23 i stuck 23 candles on top of the tiny cake, lol, made quite a flame :)

One of my biggest love languages is gift giving, and I do wish I could have gotten him something nice for his birthday, but considering what we thought we would end up doing (sitting around at home like most days) this was much better, and I'm thankful I got to get in my bathing suit at least once this summer... even though I do still hope to get to the ocean this year *crosses fingers*.

Happy Birthday to my Lovely Husband Michael Robbe :)

One August Afternoon

So last week my mother took me and my husband out to see Total Recall (not going to do a review to later this month for MMH) as payment for our bunny Willow, a friend of my mothers is taking him off our hands because in our current living and financial situation we cant take care of him.
He isn't gone yet, she hasn't come by yet to pick him up, but most likely within the next couple days.

Anyways we got to get out to see a movie and before hand I was able to stop by the towns tourist ice cream and fudge shop and grab a couple chocolate covered marshmallows with sprinkles, which is like the perfect movie snack, way better then grabbing a box of candy from the theater.

It was a nice time out, although I need to start back up on my diet again because I only have one pair of capri's/shorts and there a bit tight, a need a nice new pair thats actually my size.
Friday I started a gluten-free diet going for the next 3 weeks, after that it will turn into a low carb/gluten diet instead of none, hopefully on weekends I'll be able to splurge on some wheat or something even with my celiacs disease, because I don't want to completely cut it out of my life.
but I do need to start eating healthier again.
Also I finally spent the birthday money I had gotten from family, and I got a couple new purses coming and jewelry, you can get a lot with a little on ebay :)
I'll be posting pictures once I get everything.

Here is my outfit from my outing out last week, if you like it check it out on LOOKBOOK.nu and Hype

OH! and one last thing, please let me know what you think about how I put of the photos, should I continue to make collages and post them or put each photo up one after another?

Belated July Monthly Media Highlight

Ok so I missed writing up July's monthly media highlight, shame on me, I'm not going to write a full Monthly media highlight now, but I will still post the Movie I chose.

and that would be....
Goon.
A very unexpectedly great movie! Albeit very foul-mouthed :p but Seann William Scott does a great job, I love him in all things I've seen him in so far, but this was just perfect. I'm not super big on sport movies, so you would think I wouldn't like it or be interested in seeing it, But I tried it because of the main actor, and hey! ...ended up loving it. It's not just about hockey, its a pretty great story (its based on a true story) and laughed my ass of through the whole thing.
I apologize for not going in depth with the characters and plot, like i said earlier im not doing a full write up.

If you can sit through foul language, and find some crude humor funny, then check it out!

and BTW i saw Total Recall Today, since its august i cant put that movie up for MMH until the end of  this month, but im will tell you....GO SEE IT!!!!
